Breaking The Trails

If you are thinking of a sleigh ride , we have snow!

Thomas was out this morning, "breaking the trail".

Can you see the steam off his back?
Breaking a trail into a snow filled path, is no small job.
Good thing Thomas is no small horse.

If you would like to go for a sleigh ride call the farm house, office or email

Winter Has Arrived

Winter has arrived here on the farm.

It has been snowing all day  (again) , we have accumulated   2-3" so far today.
Because we have seen such fluctuating temperatures ,there is a dangerous coating of ice under the snow. The big boys are penned in the side yard, for safety.

I think they are enjoying the visit with Mini and cow.

It is only 26 outside  too cold to enjoy much outside.

Looks like it will warm up by Saturday , more enjoyable temperatures for sleigh rides and outside chores.

Work Horse

Yesterday Bob and Nickel worked twitching (hauling) fire wood.

These tree's were cut down at Abenaki Draft Horse Club.

In the area where space was tight Bob drove, from on top of Nickel.

Where space was more plentiful Bob ground drove.

Horses for Heroes

Empowering families … one horseback ride at a time!
We are proud to share that we have committed to Horses 4  Heroes as a learning facility to our local heroes.

The Horses for Heroes web sight is run by volunteers, so it has not yet been updated to show our link, but the sight is worth a visit and the program is awesome and we are thrilled to be part!

Watch for our upcoming Farm Day, and open house and if you now a local hero who would benefit from time on the farm contact us

Men At Work

We have had perfect fall weather this week.

Pictured here you can see the team , spreading manure.

The manure will help to fertilize the pasture , encouraging new growth in the spring.

Look at the beautiful fall colors.

Consider a visit, it is picture perfect!
