Heritage Days

This is our team at Heritage Days in Arundel.

The event took place in a large hay field, we were able to find the horses a good amount of shade.

It was a fun day , with simple demo's.

Pepper Season

Pepper season may be cut short.

Harvested all my peppers and started the dehydration process.
Had hoped to make a dried pepper rub.

Twelve hours in , the dehydrator failed.  
Fingers crossed , hope all is not a loss.

Labor Day 250/115

A new "hound" in the farm house kitchen, meet Charlie (cookie Jar) from The Pioneer Woman Collection .
Sunday  we enjoyed Chicken with a Honey Mustard Crust
 after hauling 200 bales of hay out of the field, into the barn.

Monday: Holiday Cheese Burgers , Curly Fries.
Very hot not able to do anything with the boys, they are spending their days inside in front of the fans.

Back to work Tuesday: Veggie Egg Rolls Low Mien Noodles Carrot Rice


Wednesday: Fish Nuggets and Potato Fries

Thursday: Pork Kabobs

Friday: Pizza Night

September 2nd day 245 in 2015 balance 120

Last week I joined Southern Maine Food Initiative , and oh my word what AWESOME product.
If you are in the area check them out on facebook.  This week I almost doubled my order, it wont hurt my feelings if I never go in the grocery store again. They have EVERYTHING I need even meat, cheese, milk, soap...

Check out these amazing beets we had with dinner last night I purchased them as part of my SMFI order. If I remember correctly they were grown at Northern Girl Farm, here in Maine.

On The Menu
Wednesday/ Tonight Steak Bites Hash brown Potatoes Our own Tri-Pepper Mix and Fresh Carrots from Jireh Hill Farm
Thursday: Alfredo with Broccoli and Bacon
Bacon is local smoked, uncured - Triple L Farm (save the "left over" bread and ends, for Friday)
-even the pasta came in my order fresh/local farms
Friday: Gazpacho Panzanella-Mixed Heirloom Organic Tomatoes Two Farmers Farm
Saturday: Pork Chops  with leaks and Kountry Kettle Pears (fruit spread)
Sunday: Pretzel Crusted Chicken Tender Dijon Mustard Rice ( need double batch )
Monday: Egg rolls and Vegetarian Carrot Fried Rice (need day old rice)
Tuesday: Cheese Burgers with Lumberman's Pepper Jack Cheese
